Ridley Terminals Stacker Reclaimer
Westwood was contracted by Sandvik mining to rebuild two existing stacker/reclaimers on the Ridley terminals site in Prince Rupert. These machines were originally built in 1986 and were in need of a complete mechanical/electrical overhaul. Each machine was shut down separately and demolished of all electrical equipment, including the electrical house. New tray, cable, controls boxes and controls package were installed and connected to a new prewired electrical house. These two stacker reclaimers were completely rebuilt both electrically and mechanically over an eight month period, which required extensive planing and excellent schedule execution. Westwood assisted in the commissioning process to start these machine up.
Vancouver Wharves
Westwood was contracted to supply and install a new underground 15KV feeder system to five existing PDC buildings. Included in our contract was to install 15KV cables into a new conduit system, splice 15KV cables in new cable vaults, install a new transformer, bus system and 600 volt PDC's in each PDC room. Westwood provided commissioning assistance to energize the new system.
